Council of Arab Countries’ Ambassadors to the United Nations (UN) in New York City, rejected Israel’s announced annexation plans for the occupied West Bank.
The council held a meeting via video conference to discuss the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly the illegal annexation plans, recently announced by Israeli leaders.
The ambassadors listened to reports by Palestine’s Representative at the UN, Mr. Riyad Mansour, with respect to all Palestinian communications with all relevant Arab and international bodies, including the Quartet Committee for Peace, over ways to curb Israeli annexation plans.
The council of Arab countries’ representatives to the United Nations, expressed their complete support for the Palestinian cause and announced a plan for wider communications within the United Nations’ bodies for the best way forward, to actualize all UN resolutions opposing all forms of Israeli settlement plans, across the occupied Palestinian territories.
The council also renewed their support for the Arab Peace Initiative of 2002, which is based on a two-state solution, with Israel renouncing all occupied Arab lands, in return for full peaceful ties between Israel and Arab states.
Recently, both Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu and his rival Benny Gantz, have agreed to a unity government and announced that Israel would annex the West Bank by July of 2020.
